Paycom Sets the Standard for National Payroll Week

In celebration of National Payroll Week (NPW), Paycom continued its tradition of embracing a fun workplace culture while also giving back to the Oklahoma community.  They celebrated this important week in their industry with a week full of employee activities and competitions while also collecting and donating 4,370 canned goods to the Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma.

Paycom’s annual celebration of NPW, celebrated Sept. 2-6, incorporated the canned food drive benefiting local agencies three years ago and has grown in size each year. This year’s mark surpassed last year by roughly 1,000 canned goods.

“It’s important to us as an organization to be able to take events like this and turn it into support of a good cause in our community,” Executive Vice President of Operations Stacey Pezold said. “With help from our wonderful employees we can ensure that many of those less fortunate have meals that otherwise wouldn’t.”

During Paycom’s NPW festivities, employees teamed up to participate in camp themed competitions, including talent shows, relay races and canoe races in the Paycom pond.  The canned food drive was one of the challenges and over 23 teams went head-to-head to see which team could bring the most canned goods.

“We have a very competitive spirit, but it was all for a good cause,” said Chris Nusbaum, development manager, on the winning team. “It is very fulfilling to be able to give back to the community by providing food for hungry Oklahomans.”
