Employee Spotlight: Meet Molly

Bonny Calfy | January 20, 2016

Molly is the Sacramento sales manager and has been with Paycom since 2011.

When asked what one word she would choose to describe Paycom, she said, “ Dynamic. Paycom is definitely a force that stimulates change. The innovative company is thrilling and it keeps us on our toes. Everything about Paycom makes you want to strive for perfection and we are continually improving and adapting to make sure we can achieve it.”

Describe what you do.

I am lucky enough to be the Sacramento Sales Manager! Each and every day I walk into “work” and get the opportunity to lead and mentor eight of the best individuals I know. I call myself lucky because I’m able to play a role in helping my reps grow and develop into amazing sales professionals and charismatic, authentic individuals. In addition to focusing a lot of my efforts into my team’s personal and professional development, I also get to help them sell! Each week I get to turn into a road warrior, travel with the reps and sell the best product in our industry, hands down.

Molly S.What advice would you give a new employee for being successful at Paycom?

Practice two things: trust and discipline. Paycom has a method and a reasoning behind everything and it works! Trust the process, the approach, our product, your management team, your leaders and your mentors within the company. Put full trust in what you are being taught and good things will come your way. As for discipline, it’s essential to your character. You will have so much to learn and without the follow through to practice and become better, it’s easy for things to fall through the cracks.  Discipline will help bring stability and structure into your new wild, crazy and dynamic Paycom life.

What is one thing you have learned that you did not know before working at Paycom?

The power of reading! Before Paycom I always enjoyed reading a book here and there, but wouldn’t have considered myself a “reader.” However, over the past two to three years I cannot even begin to tell you all the information I have gathered through books. It has really helped me become a more well-rounded person and businesswoman.

What makes you proud to work at Paycom?

Oh man, it’s so hard to choose just one reason! Paycom is an amazing company that I am grateful for every day. But, I would have to say I’m most proud of the people. Where else can you work with people who truly care about your growth and challenge you to be the best you that you can be!? Our product is superior but the people are what make Paycom untouchable.

Where has been your favorite place to travel, and why?

I’m a huge fan of Hawaii. What’s not to love? It’s breathtaking. Hawaii has everything I love all in one place. I am obsessed with the ocean and beaches, and I love having mountains and hilly terrain right there for a good hike. It also didn’t hurt that I was there with some of my best friends during Paycom’s President’s Club!

What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work?

Being outside and active are my favorite activities outside of work! I love to explore. Every year when writing down my goals, I choose a few new cities to visit for weekend trips. Being able to travel is one of my biggest motivators and it always gives me something to look forward to! Sharing these experiences with friends and family makes traveling just that much better.Molly

If you could pick anyone in the world to have lunch with, who would it be and why?

Right now I am really interested in Kat Cole. She is a 37 year-old business icon, currently a group president at FOCUS Brands Inc. I appreciate her small town beginnings and powerful work ethic. At 16 years old she took a job waiting tables and by 26 she was a vice president at one of the largest restaurant groups in the U.S. She was able to prove herself in a primarily male-driven industry and continues to dominate each role she takes!
