Employee Spotlight: Meet Scott

Bonny Calfy | June 18, 2019

Scott has been a Paycom sales representative since May 2018. Recently, I reached out and asked him to share his story.

Describe what you do.

I am a sales representative based out of Indianapolis. My mission is to develop new partnerships with organizations in Indiana by showing them the value Paycom provides and then analyzing those businesses through meetings with their executives and HR teams to find out their needs. After, I prescribe a solution that best fits their needs and bring in those organizations to the Paycom family.

What advice would you give a new employee to be successful at Paycom?

Stay organized and keep a positive mindset. It is easy to take your foot off the gas when you are having success or lose your motivation when things get tough. By always having an effective plan for the week and keeping a positive mindset, you can ensure you are staying on track while still enjoying your role and personal life.

What’s the one word you would choose to describe Paycom, and why?

Motivated. Every employee at Paycom is motivated to bring value to our clients, excel every day in their roles and continue to help advance the best HCM company in the U.S.!

What is your greatest accomplishment at Paycom?

My greatest accomplishment was forming a partnership with an organization in Indiana that really needed our help. Paycom changed the employee experience so much that it aided in transforming the organization’s struggling culture into one of transparency and trust.

What makes you proud to work at Paycom?

We are completely redefining an industry … that is something most people do not get to be a part of even once in their lives.

What’s been your favorite place to travel, and why?

Dubai. Imagine the nicest hotel you have ever been to. Everything in Dubai is like that hotel.

What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work?

I enjoy playing pickup basketball in different gyms around Indianapolis and trying new eateries with my wife.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

I would have Gordon Ramsey cook me a perfect medium rare steak served with a side of mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad.
