OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 23, 2023) — Paycom Software, Inc., (NYSE:PAYC), a leading provider of comprehensive, cloud-based human capital management software, recently donated $50,000 to the future National Juneteenth Museum. The museum, based in Fort Worth’s Historic Southside neighborhood, is set to open by Juneteenth, June 19, 2025.
“The employees of Paycom recognize the importance of preserving the history of Juneteenth and educating future generations with lasting stories of freedom,” said Jennifer Kraszewski, vice president of human resources at Paycom. “With this donation, we can help honor the endeavors of Ms. Opal Lee and other founding members of the museum. It’s a privilege to help highlight Fort Worth’s important role in Juneteenth’s story.”
Lee, described as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” pioneered efforts that led to the establishment of the federal holiday in 2021. A staunch supporter of the museum’s mission, Lee helped organize a walking campaign to Washington D.C. while actively championing the museum’s revitalization.
“One of the key hallmarks of this cultural complex is to serve as the epicenter for the awareness and the preservation of Juneteenth history while advancing economic opportunities for underrepresented and emerging minority entrepreneurs in and around the city of Fort Worth,” said Dr. Gleniece Robinson, board chair for the National Juneteenth Museum. “My fellow board members and I are thankful to Paycom as a major benefactor of our Sneak Preview Tour on the curation of the first exhibition.”
The museum will include 10,000 square feet of immersive and engaging exhibit galleries, public green space for outdoor activities, a 250-seat theater for hosting lectures and guest speakers, and a workspace for minority-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. A food hall will feature chefs, vendors and emerging entrepreneurs creating cuisine of African origin or descent.
The donation is made possible by Paycom’s employee giving program, which allows employees to donate to sustainable programs that ensure basic needs are met and encourage a brighter future for all. In 2022, Paycom employees gave more than $1.3 million to causes across the country where team members live and work.
Paycom has also supported other civil rights museums including the Freedom Center of Oklahoma City and Greenwood Rising.
