OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 17, 2022) – Paycom Software Inc. (NYSE:PAYC), a leading provider of comprehensive, cloud-based human capital management software, donated $40,000 to PADI AWARE Foundation to address key ocean threats including marine debris, climate change, marine habitat loss and vulnerable species protection.
During the month of July, Paycom hosted a companywide phishing simulation to educate team members on fraudulent emails and raise funds for PADI AWARE Foundation. In addition to employee contributions, Paycom donated $1 to PADI AWARE each time a team member correctly reported a phishing email.
Paycom Oklahoma City headquarters team members and Texas operations center team members and their families also served more than 110 hours picking up trash near the Oklahoma River and Oak Grove Park in Grapevine, Texas, respectively.
“Environmental conservation impacts everyone, which is why I’m thrilled our team members are supporting PADI AWARE for the fifth year in a row,” said AJ Griffin, Paycom director of community and government affairs. “Paycom continues to be an active steward of the environment through sustainability. Working with organizations like PADI AWARE protects the underwater world so future generations can enjoy our oceans and the life they sustain.”
The PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) AWARE Foundation drives local action for global ocean conservation through educational programs, establishing policies that protect vulnerable marine life and contributing to groundbreaking science on marine debris. After more than 30 years of operation, PADI AWARE has extracted over 2 million pieces of debris from the ocean.
“PADI AWARE is committed to making conservation action for the ocean and beyond more accessible than ever before,” said Jack Fishman, PADI AWARE Foundation’s community and campaigns officer. “Together with critical supporters like Paycom, we have the ability to rally together advocates for our oceans and create new avenues for marine education.”
Wednesday’s donation is made possible through Paycom’s ongoing employee giving campaign that engages team members with opportunities to give to local and national nonprofits. Team members may also donate their time through a variety of volunteer activities, including community cleanup projects, throughout the year.
