Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Paycom’s culture
From attracting diverse talent to developing our people, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are at the center of Paycom’s culture. We support employees of all experiences reaching their highest potential. Our commitment to DEI results in happier, more productive employees who stay longer and bring more innovative ideas.
Our DEI strategy
Creating a thriving DEI culture is challenging. It requires a dedicated team with a thoughtful road map. Our strategy aims to improve the daily lives of our employees through:
- attracting diverse talent
- building a culture that embraces their uniqueness and helps them feel valued
- providing the tools and resources they need to succeed
Fostering community with employee resource groups
Our employee resource groups (ERGs) help people from a variety of backgrounds make connections, find support and give back to our communities while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Each ERG is open to all team members who identify directly or as an ally.

How ERGs Make a Difference
What employees say
Facilitating important conversations
Through our Better Conversations series, employees share personal experiences, stories and topics often avoided at work. These sessions create a structured space that encourages dialogue, not debate. Employees can build cultural competency while using the talking/listening boundaries method to interact across differences on current events and polarizing topics.
Better Conversations help employees expand opinions, build capacity to interact and build value across differences. In 2023, Paycom expanded the program by partnering with each ERG to host an event.
Veteran and disabled self-identification and disclosure data
While we continue recruiting and growing diverse talent at Paycom, we’re working on initiatives to improve how employees opt in to share their identity via the Paycom app. Our data is only as strong as employees understand the value and safety of self-reporting for a more accurate snapshot, especially in key categories like veteran status and disability. In 2023, 8.8% of employees identified as disabled and 3.7% identified as active military or veteran.
Employee demographics
Any strong DEI program is committed to a culture of transparency and accountability to all stakeholders. We share the following detailed diversity data as part of our governance. While this data showcases why Newsweek named us one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity 2023, we also recognize areas of improvement exist.
*The data on this page summarizes our workforce demographics as of Dec. 31, 2023. The workforce demographic data, including race and ethnicity, gender and job categories, aligns with the EEO-1 Component 1 data collection reporting requirements outlined by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
