Employee Spotlight: Meet Danielle

Ashley DeGroot | July 1, 2022

Client support and service are always top of mind for Paycom, and the Paycom Service Department (PSD) is hiring! A proud University of Houston graduate (“Go Coogs!”), Danielle came to Paycom after serving as an agency recruiter.

A Paycom recruiter reached out to Danielle to discuss a role with the company. Danielle was using Paycom software in her job at the time, and she recognized the value the tools brought to her work. So she jumped at the chance to expand her career as a corporate recruiter and accepted a position with the company.

She’s been with Paycom for two and half years and earned a promotion to senior recruiter last year. We recently interviewed Danielle to learn more about what makes the PSD career path special.

Describe what you do.

I connect people with career opportunities at Paycom. I spend time understanding their career experiences and goals and align that with opportunities that we have here. More so, I have the opportunity to partner with leaders throughout Paycom to understand their hiring goals.

If you could give a high-level description of PSD, how would you describe it?

The Paycom Service Department is the heartbeat of Paycom! We continuously work to drive client retention through software support and usage.

What advice would you give a new employee starting in PSD?

Give yourself grace, lean into learning and become comfortable with always learning. Ask for support.

What are the best ways to be successful in a PSD role?

Take up stock in your learning and development. Leaders and team members at Paycom want to see you succeed! There is no time too early to present feedback! Feedback is how we make our software and service better and processes more efficient.

For candidates interested in PSD, what previous experience or skills are good to have for the role?

Skills and experiences related to supporting customers or clients and a strong passion for service!

What’s your favorite part of Paycom?

The people. I have had a chance to connect with so many different teammates and have grown to truly appreciate the community we’ve built and continue to build at Paycom.

How well do you think Paycom responds and adapts to adversity? For example, the pandemic.

I believe Paycom always places its people at the center of the conversation. COVID was something that no one could have predicted, let alone knew how to manage; however, Paycom chose the best course of action to protect our people and teams first.

What resources does Paycom set you up with to succeed?

Access to people. Paycom provides unique opportunities where our teams can connect with other teammates who are knowledge experts in their areas. No silos lead to success!

If you could give an elevator pitch for the PSD role, what would it be?

Our Paycom Service Department provides long-term care support to businesses that are currently using our HR software. We expertly manage the entire employment life cycle from recruitment to retirement.
