Egor has been a Paycom Transition Specialist Representative (TSR) since February 2017. Recently, I reached out and asked him to share his story.
How would you describe your role?
I am the lead project manager during the implementation of new Paycom clients. I help facilitate interdepartmental communication between the client and the full transition team to ensure the client has a seamless, enjoyable transition from their previous provider to Paycom.
Furthermore, I train client administrators, managers and employees for full adoption of our software. My main goal throughout every implementation is to facilitate a complete digital transformation, including empowering employees and increasing their engagement in the workplace. Ultimately, I help clients reduce labor hours and the associated costs, so they receive their full ROI with Paycom.
What advice would you give a new employee for being successful at Paycom?
Take it one day at time. There’s so much to learn, and your first few months as a TSR are like drinking out of a fire hose, but you are surrounded by people that want to see you succeed and are always happy to help, so don’t be afraid to ask questions. Also, there will be hard days, but just keep pushing and remember the positive impact of your work
What’s the one word you would choose to describe Paycom, and why?
Transformative. As a company, we really are changing the workplace environment. Not only are we maximizing efficiency in the way companies handle HR and payroll, but we are empowering employees and changing how they engage in the workplace. From managing time, pay, benefits and so much more, we are providing tools to employees they can use in the palm of their hand.
What makes you proud to work at Paycom?
There are so many things that make me proud to work at Paycom.
Seeing the positive tangible impact my work has on clients is definitely number one. We might not be with them every day, but when you hear a client say, “This is going to save me so much time,” or “You’ve really made my life easier,” it’s truly a satisfying feeling. You gave that person one of the best gifts someone can receive, and that’s time. Time to spend with their family, work on their hobby or simply enjoy doing things outside of work.
Another thing that really makes me proud to work at Paycom is the management team. From my regional manager to the director of my department, the level of support and opportunity for learning, growth and self-development we get from our leaders is commendable.
Where has been your favorite place to travel, and why?
My favorite place to travel so far has been to my grandma’s hometown of Neya, which is a small town in Russia, about 370 miles northeast of Moscow. I used to spend every summer there, and it was just an amazing place to unwind. Along with getting time to spend with my family, it was great to get away from the fast pace of the city. We spent hot summer days at the river, warm evenings with friends and quiet country nights with a canopy of spectacular stars in the sky. After every trip, I always feel recharged and refocused.
What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work?
Outside of work, I really enjoy going to the gym, visiting museums and going to the beach. One day, I hope to add flying to this list.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
It would definitely have to be potatoes – all kinds. Not only are they delicious, but there’s just so much you can do with them: bake them, mash them and fry them to make a variety of delicious foods!
