Paycom Employees Donate More Than 2 Tons to Goodwill, Concludes NPW with Canoe Races
OKLAHOMA CITY – Employees of Paycom Software, Inc. (“Paycom”) (NYSE: PAYC), a leading provider of comprehensive, cloud-based human capital management software, donated 4,873.5 pounds of gently used clothing to Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma, concluding a week-long celebration of National Payroll Week (NPW) with canoe races in Paycom’s pond. With a week of superhero-themed employee competitions, including the inaugural Goodwill donation drive, Paycom employees continued the tradition of embracing a fun workplace culture while giving back to the Oklahoma community.
“Each bag of clothing donated to Goodwill equals one hour of services for people in our community. Paycom’s inaugural donation drive provided over 330 hours of services to the nine Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma’s programs,” said Tiffany Anderson, creative services manager of Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma. “The services include at-risk student mentorship, training for those with disabilities and job coaching placement for homeless veterans. We are grateful for the support from the employees of Paycom toward our mission to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities and disadvantages through the power of work.”
Paycom’s more than 2-ton gift was raised as employees weighed their clothing donations to earn points for their favorite Paycom National Payroll Week team. One pound of clothing equaled one point. The donations consisted of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, as well as outerwear, shoes and accessories.
“Our employees did not disappoint in their efforts to bring donations for Goodwill during this fun and competitive week,” said Chad Raymond, Paycom’s vice president of human resources. “This is yet another example of our employees’ continued dedication to support those less fortunate within our community.”
National Payroll Week celebrates the hard work of the United States’ 150 million wage earners, plus the professionals who pay those employees with accuracy and on time. Essentially, the week honors everyone’s favorite day: payday. As one of the largest payroll providers in America, Paycom ensures payroll professionals meet stringent deadlines to supply employees with their paychecks.
Traditionally, NPW is celebrated during the week of Labor Day, but in an effort to maximize the week’s festivities, Paycom celebrated internally one week later, Sept. 11-15. During these five days, Paycom employees teamed to participate in superhero-themed competitions, including team skits, design competitions, relay races and canoe races in the pond at Paycom’s Oklahoma City corporate headquarters.
