The fifth annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service were held Monday night, and Paycom’s Stacey Pezold was presented with a Stevie® Award for Best Sales Training Manager of the Year. Paycom was also named as a finalist for Customer Service Department of the Year in the Financial Services Category.
The awards are presented by the Stevie Awards, which organizes several of the world’s leading business awards shows, including the prestigious American Business AwardsSMand International Business AwardsSM.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the trophies were presented to honorees during a gala banquet on Monday, February 21 at the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel in Miami Beach. Nominated customer service and sales executives from the U.S.A. and several other countries attended. The event benefited Camfed, which supports the education of girls and women in Africa.
More than 800 entries from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted to this year’s competition, an increase of more than 60% over 2010. There were 25 categories for customer service professionals, including Contact Center of the Year, Award for Innovation in Customer Service, and Customer Service Department of the Year; as well as 40 categories for sales professionals, ranging from Global Sales Leader of the Year to Sales Training Program of the Year to Sales Department of the Year. New categories were introduced this year to recognize new products, services and solution providers.
After unprecedented success as a Branch Manager and Regional Manager for Paycom, Stacey Pezold was asked to lead their sales training department. She had experience and success training her own sales teams, but she was being asked to single-handedly create a training program for all of Paycom’s sales new hires and for the elite sales team who make up Paycom’s President’s Club. Needless to say, Stacey took the opportunity and ran with it, creating a training program that’s sold over 10 million in revenue and earned her the prestigious Stevie AwardSM.
“Stacey has developed a unique training program and delivers it effectively,” said Jeff York, Paycom’s CSO. “Her training is comparable to a mini MBA program, giving our sales associates the confidence and ability to compete with sales people who have been selling for years.”
During preliminary judging, finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide. Members of the Awards’ Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected Stevie Award winners from among these Finalists.
“This year’s class of honorees illustrates that no matter your organization’s size, industry, budget, or location, it’s possible to excel at the two most important functions in business: acquiring and keeping customers,” said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards.
